How to Make Mushroom Coffee
–Regular Brew: Just like regular coffee. Add 3 tablespoons (~15 grams) of coffee to your brewer and press start. Brew should be about 8 ounces of water
*Pro-tip – Check your brew machine’s amount of water output first and adjust accordingly for proper flavor preference.
–Refillable Keurig Pod: Add mushroom coffee to the fill line. Insert into the machine and use the smaller cup of coffee setting. (There should be about 2 tablespoons (~10 grams) of mushroom coffee grounds and about 6oz of coffee brewed)
–French Press: Use the same ratio of the regular brew. About 3 tablespoons (~15 grams) of mushroom coffee to 8oz of water. Adjust accordingly for your taste preference
–Pour Over:
- Prep the filter. Grab a clean filter and with your dripper on the carafe, pour enough hot water to wet the filter. This eliminates potential “papery” tasting notes and preheats your carafe for extra heat retention.
- Heat the water. The ideal water temperature is 205°F. You want to use about 10-12oz of water. This can be adjusted accordingly for your taste preference.
- Pre-wet the grounds. Now that your filter is set up add in the coffee grounds (~3 tablespoons). Next, pour some of the hot water at the center of your coffee working your way to the outer edges. Wait 30 seconds for the coffee to rise and release some of the flavors.
- Pour the water. Pour in your hot water slowly. Evenly pour so that all grounds are evenly extracted. Your total brew time should land between 2:30-3:00 minutes.
